A comment on Virginia Beach (VA) police chase ends with driver's death

"Lumpkin":

I wanted to take the time to respond to the many comments you have made recently regarding our blogs. First of all, I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is quite clear that you have a strong opinion about injury lawyers. Unfortunately, I feel like you are treating us like all of the stereotypes out there without ever actually meeting me or my partners. I invite you to email me so that we might exchange thoughts about my approach to blogging. I did strongly consider some of the comments that you made and in fact plan to change some of my approach pursuant to your comments. I do feel that you are being unfairly harsh. If you have had a bad experience with a personal injury lawyer, I am sorry. I truly love what I do and am passionate about helping people. It is a sad truth that people get hurt. Those people are entitled to be represented by someone who cares about them. My firm prides itself on being ethical and knowledgable. Please feel free to contact me directly via email. I look forward to your response.

A comment on Virginia Beach (VA) police chase ends with driver's death

I guess if you were not there and do not have the entire story than you should really keep your comments to yourself. Your opinions are at best juvenile. Maybe it would be a good idea if you are being pulled over you should act like an adult and take responsibility instead of drinking, speeding and not wearing your seatbelt. Oh and Grape Ape, if the beach officers are such lousy drivers why didn't the officer crash??? I guess they are better than you think,,,,idiot!

A comment on Mother, toddler die in Virginia Beach (VA) crash

I approached this accident around 9:30pm the night of the crash on my way home from work- traveling in the same direction the Mise family was traveling in. As I always do, I said a very quick prayer in my car as I detored down Corporate Landing for all involved in the crash- not knowing at the time that fatalities had occured. Im so sorry for the Mise family's loss. Once again lives have been lost because someone was impatient behind the wheel, its senseless and unacceptable! My heart goes out to all that knew and loved Tanya and Lauren.

A comment on Demystifying Injury Litigation: What Is a Deposition and How Do I Get Ready for It?

I am going to give my clients this article and tell them that this is all they need to know. You show that the most important part of testifying inan injury case is to tell the truth and work hard to get your facts straight so you don't end up saying different things each time you talk to someone. I wonder what an insurance company attorney tells her or his client.? That attorney is paid by an insurance company (inusrance companies care ONLY about saving money) and not the actual defendant driver. Do they ever tell their witnesses what to say at depositions? Do they ever hire doctors to testify that the plaintiff isn't really hurt or is malingering? I think so. I hate to say it but I do. Does AIG care about the truth in an injury case. And what kind of doctor would take a big fee from an insurance company to say that the injured plaintiff is a liar and a fake. As I watch the health care debate and read about all of the poor doctors being sued I think about the doctors who make over $1 million per year to write what are called IME reports for insurance companies. The reports are whatever AIG or State Farm or Liberty Mutual wants to hear.

Anyway, Rick, I love the article and will give it to my clients in Honolulu.

A comment on Mother, toddler die in Virginia Beach (VA) crash

My deepest condolences go out to the Mise family. They are grappling with a pain that's hard to put into words at this point.

I hope a thorough investigation is conducted by the Virginia Beach Police so we can fully understand what exactly happened.

But for now, I want to reiterate my sympathies to Mr. Mise and his family. As a husband and father, I would be devastated if I lost my wife and child.

Stay strong.

A comment on Mother, toddler die in Virginia Beach (VA) crash

Where to begin? I am deeply sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what your are going through but know that there is one more person out here tha sends out his prayers for your family. I hope God will heal your pain and know one day you will reunite with your wife and child in Heaven. I lost my brother 12 years ago and I always think of him. Life is a journey and while we may not understand , one thing is for sure, this life is but a small passage in time and that you will se your wife and child again. Keep the faith and God Bless you all.

A comment on Demystifying Injury Litigation: What Is a Deposition and How Do I Get Ready for It?

These are really good all encompassing pieces of advice. I especially like the comparison to the statement and the way they use it. The whole key is always to remember that you are under oath and it really is testimony. I have watched so many people just be themselves and truly strike a cord with their humanity.

A comment on Mother, toddler die in Virginia Beach (VA) crash

My thoughts are with the Mise family. I know this is a terrible tragedy. Two lives lost over a stop light. I believe Lauren Mackenzie is with her mother in Heaven. Things can't be explained how events in our lives unfold but things just happen and can't be controlled. Please know I'm thinking of you and your family. Someone is out there Loves You and Cares for you
